earth angel strikes again!

i have a few earth angels in my life, you know those special people that keep you going when times are tough or make you laugh when the blues set in or treat your children like they are precious even when they are not related.... linda from lilly cottage (and i am sure laura would have had a part to play as well) is one such earth angel and showers my little girls with unexpected love and generosity. let me take you back to where this story started.
many moons ago lili spotted a gorgeous bear with a unique hand made dress for sale at lilly cottage. i secretly put it on lay by and presented it to her under the christmas tree as a reward for doing so well at school. because i loved lilis bear so much i wanted to get mia something similar for graduating from pre prep. the second i walked into lilly cottage i found the perfect little teddy with a vintage dress. the teddies have movable arms and legs and really are more for show than play.... but Mia's teddy is so soft and cuddly that she has become a constant companion and sleeping buddy (you try taking a teddy like that off a determined almost 5 year old). anyhow the inevitable happened, i heard a huge howl and went running, the teddy had lost her arm. after calming mia down i emailed linda who told us to drop her in and she would take her to teddy bear hospital. while we were at the cottage linda eluded to the fact that they might have to find mia a hugging buddy bear so that 'lil' bear would always stay in tact. i said no no no dont go to any trouble mia would be fine. well two days ago i noticed a brown bag hanging off our front door and raced to get mia as the bag was for her... the pictures tell the story.
her squeals of excitement were like music to a mothers ears.
you have to click on this to enlarge it and read it. how sweet! not only was 'lil' bear returned but she had a companion 'jenny' who needed some lovin'. the level of excitement hit hysteria as mia realised there was an extra bear in the bag for her!!
jenny is in mias right hand and old flopsy 'lil' bear in mias left. one very very happy child in the middle
and here is Rosalie bear (lilis choice) she really does have the most exquisite dress on!
here are the bears with their owners... the most amazing thing is that jenny has curly fur and looks like mias curly locks!
so from the bottom of our blessed bonser hearts we thank you LINDA and send you big big big bear hugs.
do yourself a favour, log onto lilly cottage blog or if you live local (in brisbane) come visit them at old petrie town all the info is on their blog.
i would like to thank all my earth angels and hopefully one day i can repay them in some way.

Hey Rosey! So pleased to her "Lil" is all better and home again. You know you don't choose a bear, right - they choose YOU! So obviously these little bears know when they're onto a good thing and now they're spreading the word and bringing their friends home! Tee! Hee! Hee! I would second the motion that our Lilly Linda is a special angel - and one of her special bears lives in my spare room - her name is Pearl. And the nicest thing about earth angels is they don't do nice things expecting us to repay them - they just do them cos they love us! Have a BEARY special day! Bear Hugs! KRIS

Oh Rosey...As Kris so rightly said I didn't do it for any other reason than...I could! You are so more than welcome and having that gorgeous message on my answering machine is priceless and shall not be erased!!
So glad Jenny found someone to love...and oh my goodness how freaky is it that she does look just like Mia! Oh yes of course I planned it that way.
I think if we all lived by two of my favourite sayings, the world would be in great shape.
1. People may not remember what you wore or the colour of your hair but they will always remember the way you made them feel.
2. Treat others the wasy you woulf like to be treated yourself.
We all need to believe in a little magic too! Thank you for such a wonderful post...humbled!!

Oh Linda, what a sweetheart you are! All the more proof, Rosey, that there really are angels among us. My heart melted while reading this post and I nearly burst into tears when I read the letter! Awww! It's so good to have friends with hearts of gold. :)
