an eggcellent hunt (you just know i had to spell it that way)

i knew easter saturday would be special when mick came home to show me what he and claudia had spotted on their walk around the park. i can just imagine the little fairy who lives in this mushroom
after a spot of shopping we headed out to lilly cottage for some more shopping and an easter egg hunt!!! i had thoughts of linda hiding a few little eggs in her shop for my kids to find, but i should have known better than that.... my girls were part of her FAMILY egg hunt! how nice is that? she included my girls in something so special, something that will be remembered for a long long time. by chance my good friend (we have known each other over 20 years) was spending the weekend so she took part too. it was mirandas first ever egg hunt and she was blown away by the generosity and elaborate scope of it all.
click to enlarge so that you can read the instructions
we started by reading the special instructions, then it was every man for himself!
courtney and grace ready to start, marissa in the background.
lili off to a flying start.
miranda could hardly keep up but in the usual friendly fashion, the simpson kids made sure that each child had enough.
dom and his cousin
little katie ( i think that is her name)
it was so much fun and the figs were the perfect spot for a hunt. linda truly works in the most dreamy spot.
each adult had to find a green egg and the children had to find two eggs. miranda and i had so much fun!!!!
i got to exchange my egg for something very very special.
here is what i got in exchange for my green easter egg!
once all of these have been eaten it will be filled with real eggs... i so much want to put crafting bits and pieces in it but it will make me smile more if i see it every day on my bench holding what it was meant to hold. look at the happiness
she was squealing with excitement and miranda could not keep up with her.
here are some of the happy hunters in front of the shop... love that new sign!
and if that wasnt enough magical excitement look at this most magnificent fairy trail
and the biggest fairly ring you have ever seen.
told you this was the best place ever!
after all the excitement miranda and i bought a few things (so did mia and lili) while the girls had a sausage... yes lindas husband tim fed my children too.
what a glorious family, thank you linda from the bottom of my heart. if you live local visit her shop but if you cant do a virtual visit and say hello.
i will be back with more easter shots later.

I love the pictures of the mushroom and the fairy ring. Every day I check our compost heap because it has started sprouting little mushroom colonies. They seem to come and go daily. Fun to watch even though I feel a little funny hanging over the compost heap to check them out!

Such a beautiful post....I felt like I was right there!
And I would've traded that green egg in a second to get that gorgeous egg holder!!!!
You are all very blessed to have oneanother in each others lives:)

I love your Easter poem on I can't sew, isn't it the sweetest poem sung by a 5 year old? And the eggcelent hunt looks like so much fun, love their expressions, and of course the Fairy ring.
