a blast from the past
This morning as i looked out the window i saw an old friend. just one glance and wonderful memories came flooding back to me. gooseberries by the water tank, letting the ducklings nibble on my fingers, climbing the huge walnut tree, building grass castles after dad mowed the long lawn. exploring every inch of the old farm, riding on the handle bars as my brother doubled my sister on the back, burying my old 'yowie' money bank in the front garden, lying under a REAL Christmas tree that touched the ceiling and looking up at the lights. all of these memories are so special but along with the good feelings come the feelings of what if... what if my mother hadn't died at the age of 39, how many more years would we have spent on that wonderful farm in toowoomba ?(now subdivided to within an inch of its life)
introducing an old friend...
little miss hydrangea, we had purple and pink variations on our farm. i am lucky enough to have this pretty lady in my front garden right in front of my window!
i do hope you are happy and that you have a great thursday. xx goldsworthy

They sound like beautiful childhood memories. It is amazing how a certain smell or a particualr item can evoke such memories. Enjoy your hyderangers Rosey.

Hey Rosey---check out my blog today to see an award you just won ;-)
Hey Rosey! Dropped in after seeing your comment on Kerryanne's blog about your connection to Lilly Cottage, so popped in for a visit! Where in/around/near Toowoomba was your family farm? We live right in Toowoomba (few blocks from the CBD) but I work at Highfields. Sad that you lost your Mum at such a young age, but great that you have lovely memories to keep, too. Will send some good wishes Lilly Linda's way, too. Bear Hugs! KRIS
