weekend whinge~kids social life~

hellllloooo my friend weekend, oh how i love you! the only thing wrong with weekends is my young school age children have more of a social life than i do! i cant wait until they are of the age when i can dump and run :) lili had a pool party on friday afternoon and i did leave her there in the capable hands of the mummy but mia had a pool party this morning and she is not a confident swimmer yet so i had to sit pool side to keep a close eye on her. it was nice to take a break and be waited on hand an foot by the lovely host and hostess but my mind kept wandering to the jobs waiting at home and the fact that i have to do it all again tomorrow as mia has another party in the morning. i dont like my chances of making mick go! and next weekend claimed yet another party already. i might have to say no to a few but it is hard to say no to the fun of a party.
my gorgeous sister melissa baby sat the girls last night while mick and i stepped out to watch 'ghost town'. she had given us the movie voucher at christmas time along with a baby sitting voucher too. so mick and i had a nice night out, we even played the pokies and came away with $30! mick is my lucky charm, bit like a leprechaun only bigger and cuter and real. the movie was a hoot too. thanks melissa you are the best!
i will choose the winner of the easter give away tomorrow morning so that i can pack it up and have it in the post this coming week.
good luck, your odds are better than lotto :)

Yes it is a bit like that isn't it. I hate it when I have booked eldest childs birthday party on the same weekend I am supposed to be at the Handmade expo....oh c..p!! I shall just have to do some lateral thinking!!
I may need some chocolate!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend darling Rosey.
Kiss Noises Linda ( ohhh you should see the display we have in mind for tomorrow, fingers crossed it doesn't rain and isn't windy, I think that about covers it!)

Last weekend..one of ours had a sleep over that turned into a full weekend and the youngest had two playdates. We found ourselves alone in the house without the kids being in school and without having to pay a sitter. We looked at each other and couldn't believe that they were old enough to have their own social activities. It's coming your way...and the day will come when they are on their own more and more.

I have posted you on my blog for a Kreative Bloggers award. I love reading your blog.

Take care

Hi Rosey

I'm from South Australia. Dropped by your blog via Country Cupcakes. Will visit again and have a read back over your posts.

Hey, I can't sew either (only straigh lines - can't get my head around which way to lay patterns out and putting fabric right sides together then turning inside out just gets me confused. Visit me at my blog

Hmmm.... toying with not sharing this fact with you Rosey but have decided to prepare you. It gets worse... much worse. One day those cute little people turn into teenagers and those annoying pool parties become night time parties that end at midnight. Soooooo, while sitting at the pool is kind of annoying it has nothing on sitting outside someones house at 11:55pm in the dark waiting for your child to appear. Then, soemtimes they don't appear at the nominated time but girlfriend, that is a whole different horror story I'll save for another day. LOL.
Enjoy those sweet little children and the pool parties.

How lovely, mummy and daddy time. I've forgotten what that's like lol!
Isn't it depressing when the kids have a better social life than you, I hardly see Jess, she's always got something on.
Have a good weekend

Oh, there will come a time when all you have to do is drop and run hehe... I was overjoyed that once B hit kindergarten I no longer had to accompany him and endure the migraine that comes along with too many squealing kids. Oh, and quite pleased that I no longer had to cater to 14+ adults as well as the young'uns at B's birthday parties. RELIEF BEYOND MEASURE.

This, too, shall pass. ;)
